Best way to get to Bondi from Sydney is either via Bus which can take up to 45 minutes to one hour or take a taxi which should get you there in 25-35 minutes. If you have a rental car, then even better! Head East past Hyde Park, along Oxford street, Paddington, past Centennial Park, past Bondi Junction...as far as the road can take you!

When I think of arriving in Sydney from overseas or interstate, the first thing I just have to do before anything else to appreciate the Sydney ambiance is the Bondi-Bronte coastal walk. I can always count on my friends in Sydney to whisk me off from the airport to this great walk.
Not only is it a chance to clear your lungs after a cabin full of stale air but it is a great jet-lag cure as you get to exercise you whole body taking in some breathtaking views and checking out the local speedo talent.
Starting at the world's famous Bondi Beach, the walk begins at the Bondi Pavilion at the centre of the beach where you'll see Sydney's version of Venice Beach with the muscled talent only too happy to flaunt what they possess.
One thing I've noticed while taking new visitors to Sydney is their reaction to the Iceberg Pools. I find that people almost become hypnotised, watching the waves crash into the pool, all the while wondering if anyone in the pool has been swept away by a wave.
The pool is open to the public. Visitors are welcome for $5.50 and includes swimming, sauna and showers.
Becoming a member is more difficult. You are obliged to swim 3 Sundays a month over the 5 month winter season over a minimum of 5 years. That's 75 swims, in the winter! Being an Iceberg is a responsibility and taking responsibility for yourself. As JFK said when he was an Iceberg, “Think not what the Icebergs can do for you, rather, think what you can do for the Icebergs.”
You'll walk past famous sandstone cliffs that form part of the Hawkesbury sandstone belt and date back to the Triassic Age 190-225 million years B.C. The surrounding land, known as Mackenzies Waverley Dairy, was used for grazing in the 1880s.
There's a look-out that is magnificent for photos or just to take it all in!
The first beach you'll come upon is "Glamarama" or Tamarama (as it officially known by the local council.) In summer, you'll find it hard to find a patch of sand amongst this photographer's paradise. Be sure to wear your sunglasses not for the glare from the sun but from the gym-toned well packaged male physiques too eager to show it all.
Continue past Glamarama and you'll eventually arrive at Bronte Beach.

Arrive at Bronte Beach and you're almost done!
Walk 5 minutes up the beach past the park to a whole host of cafes and restaurants with magnificent views of Bronte Beach.
Eat, drink and be merry - then easily catch a taxi cab back into Sydney.
